Q: I am a client and want to book a Father Christmas for a corporate function, how much will it cost?
A: It depends on the hours you need the artist for. A daily rate is obviously cheaper than an hourly rate, but we are very competitive and offer the best rates in Adelaide.
Q: I am an actor and looking for representation, how much does it cost?
A: As your Agent, we market and suggest you for a variety of roles, then send you out for auditions and bookings. Once you get paid from our client, we then deduct 10% for theatre work or 15% for film, television and commercial work from your final amount. We then pay you the balance. There is also joing fee of $50.00 +gst to cover our admin expenses.
Q: As an actor, how many auditions would I get in a year?
A: It does depend on the market at the time in Adelaide, your look and what our clients are requesting. We submit our talent’s photos on a regular basis, but whether you are chosen or not, boils down to what our clients are looking for at the time.
Q: What are the requirements for joining your agency?
A: You can have a lot of experience or very little. We need people on our books of all levels, backgrounds and ages, so we need you! All you do is make an appointment with our agent, fill out a few forms and pay your registration fee of $50.00 and you are immediately available for work.
Q: Do I need a photo to join?
A: Yes, but a head and shoulders photo taken of you in colour is suffice. As you progress and gain work, you may choose to have a photo taken by a professional actor’s photographer. We are happy to recommend someone to you.
Q: I am looking for actors for my new feature, how do I go about finding them with you?
A: Once you have made initial contact, we will request a brief and then email you our suggestions for each role. We will then book the ones you are interested in. Our casting is of no charge to you, however you do have to pay to use each actor – at least award minimums apply.
Q: I am a real character, glasses and overweight and have very little experience. Can you really help me?
A: YES! We are after all types of people. Everyone has a certain level of acting ability, and we will make sure that we only send you out on jobs that you are comfortable with and suit physically.
Q: Can you make it as an actor in Adelaide?
A: Of course, Anthony LaPaglia, Peter O’Brien and Teresa Palmer are just some of the names that started off in Adelaide.
